What a beautiful night we had tonight, some moody clouds moved in threatening rain but only a few drops along with lighting strikes and thunder booms were heard and seen. For all my friends down south, Peace River gets a ridiculous amount of sunshine in the summer and Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, this picture was shot at 11:45pm. Yep you heard me right it was this light out at almost midnight.
Now onto my summer solstice story: Nine years ago this evening I was sitting in a hospital awaiting a beautiful baby. It was my due date, but long story short I had to sit on IV meds because my water had broke 3 days prior but baby did not show. So on June 21, 2004, I sat in the maternity ward waiting until June 22, 2004 to have our now 9 year old beautiful baby boy called Colby. Wow, how does time fly by. So tonight I rounded up the crew and headed to the river for some much needed River time, so the kids could get their feet wet and throw rocks and my mommy time with my camera. AND, I gave blood to shoot these pictures, dam those hungry skitters, Ah well, it was worth every bite.
