Welcome and thank you for taking the time to reading all about me.
For starters, I'm a mother of four beautiful, growing children, and a wife to a wonderful husband, Dunstan Wood. I was born and raised in Peace River and I am from a long line of Georges who have lived here. Should my children decide to raise their own kids locally, that will make six generations of us living in the beautiful town of Peace River that I am proud to call home.
I was born to Wendell and Yvonne George and I have one brother, Matthew, and 1 nieces and 2 nephews. I have plenty of aunts, uncles and cousins (I think I'm related to half the town).
As some of you may or may not know, the George family helped found the small hamlet that grew into the town you now know. They helped build hospitals, ran businesses and just plain old lived here and raised up their own children.
My passion for photography all started back when I was a young girl when I received a camera as a gift from my parents. I loved that point and shoot; I took many pictures and filled many photo albums.
Fast forward years later when the birth of my first son re-sparked my interest into the world of photography. There were no real portrait studios where I could take my child, so I made do with what I had – my husband’s SLR film camera. I shot hundreds of photographs, and, well, the rest is history! Here you are today looking through my portfolio and reading about me.
I look forward to meeting with clients, new and old alike! I hope that we can connect and I can help you capture your family’s memories.
xoxo Leah Wood
